February 14, Fineko/abc.az. To date, 31 companies operating in the payment market of Azerbaijan have applied to the Central Bank for a relevant license.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting Ruslan Talibov, chairman of the Azerbaijan Fintech Association, as saying this at the Azerbaijan Financial Forum in Baku.

In his speech, he noted that out of 31 applications, 8 have not yet received a license. Thus, the number of organizations licensed in this field has reached 23. Licenses are issued in accordance with the Law on Payment Services & Payment Systems.

"The assessment of other organizations that have applied for a license to provide payment services is currently ongoing," CBA’s statement says.
