February 17, Fineko/abc.az. Kyrgyzstan exported 17.7 tons of gold for $1.4 bn in 2024, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the National Statistical Committee of Kazakhstan.
The largest part of the precious metal was shipped to the UK - 14.9 tons worth $1.2 bn. At that, the country began buying Kyrgyz gold only in April 2024, but by the end of the year it had become its main buyer.
China (Hong Kong) became the 2nd largest importer of gold from Kyrgyzstan, where more than 1.8 tons for $129 million were delivered.
Switzerland bought 971.4 kg of Kyrgyz gold for $63.5 million, the UAE - 13.5 kg for $881,900.
In 2023, Kyrgyzstan exported 20.2 tons of gold worth $1.2 bn.
