February 17, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, persons who produce, organize the sale or store dangerous food products for the purpose of sale will be sentenced to imprisonment for up to 10 years.

ABC.AZ reports that in this regard, President Ilham Aliyev signed a law on amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses.

According to the amendments, the deliberate production, sale or storage for the purpose of marketing food products dangerous to human life and health, if these acts are committed on a large scale, is punishable by a fine of 10,000 up to 15,000 manats with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to two years or without deprivation, or restriction (or deprivation) of liberty for a term of up to one year.

According to the amendments, the same actions:

- when making a repeat transaction;

- when committed by a pre-organized group of persons

- if committed on a large scale, they are punishable by deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years and restriction of liberty for a period of 1 to 3 years or imprisonment for a period of 1 to 3 years.

These acts, if they negligently caused minor or serious harm to the victim's health, are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 2 to 4 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.

If these acts negligently caused the death of a person or other grave consequences, they are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 4 to 7 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.

If these acts negligently caused the death of two or more persons, they are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
