Brazil's National Council approves accession to OPEC+ Charter

February 19, Fineko/abc.az. The National Energy Council of Brazil has endorsed country's participation as a member of the Charter on Cooperation between OPEC+ Oil Producing Countries.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to OPEC, the decision was made after the initial statement made by Brazilian Minister of Mining & Energy Alexandre Silveira at the 36th ministerial meeting of OPEC+ on November 30, 2023.

The Charter of Cooperation, established in July 2019, envisages a platform to facilitate dialogue and exchange views on conditions and developments in the global oil and energy markets.

The goal is to promote reliable energy supply and long-term stability for the benefit of producers, consumers, investors and the global economy.
