February 19, Fineko/abc.az. Iran's parliament has launched an impeachment procedure against Economy & Finance Minister Abdolnaser Hemmati during an open meeting.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting Ahmad Naderi, a member of the Presidium of the Mejlis of the Islamic Republic.

The issue of removing the Minister of Economy & Finance from office has been raised in the Iranian parliament for several weeks. The reason is the record drop in the market rate of the Iranian currency. Despite the fact that the official exchange rate of the Iranian Central Bank is about 670,000 rials per $1, according to Iranian media, the market rate as of February 19 this year exceeds 900,000 rials per $1.
