U.S. Department of Agriculture grants conditional approval for a new avian flu vaccine

February 20, Fineko/abc.az. Conditional approval for a new avian influenza vaccine for poultry has been granted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

ABC.AZ reports that developed by Zoetis from New Jersey, the vaccine was recognized last week as meeting safety and efficacy standards. Zoetis CEO Kristin Peck said that the vaccine was tested jointly with the administration and the U.S. Congress.

The avian flu has devastated many poultry farms in the U.S., causing a sharp rise in egg prices. Since 2022, the virus has affected more than 150 million birds, including 20.5 million in the last 30 days alone.
