March 13, Fineko/abc.az. The improvement of the digital platforms of the State Tax Service has significantly reduced the number of on-site tax audits.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting State Tax Service’s head Orhan Nazarli, as saying this at Baku conference "Financial control as a guarantor of the protection of the constitutional rights of the state and the private sector".

"In 2024, a total of 384 on-site tax audits were conducted against more than 800,000 active taxpayers. This indicator is 29% less than in 2023 and 5-6-fold less than in 2018," he said.

Nazarli added that the efficiency indicator per audit grew by 37%, and the amount of charges for each audit is about 1.4 million manats. The main burden in tax control falls on desk tax audits conducted remotely based on available data.
