March 14, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, 202,100 taxpayers in Azerbaijan had tax debt of 5.537 billion manats (6.1% less and 12.2% more year-on-year).

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in Cabinet Ministers' report on government activity for 2024.

According to the document, the mortgage of 189,500 taxpayers in the amount of 5.199 billion manats was written off. This is respectively 10.1% and 5.7% less compared with 2023.

Over the reported term, 1.3 million official notifications, 561,800 SMS-messages were sent to debtor taxpayers and 208,600 phone calls were made to inform them about composition of the debt and possible administrative measures in case of non-payment of the debt.

As of January 1, 2025, 155,200 taxpayers had debts on social insurance contributions in the amount of 263.9 million manats. The debt on unemployment insurance contributions reached 6.7 million manats from 31,500 taxpayers. The debt on compulsory medical insurance contributions amounted to 26.2 million manats from 67,300 taxpayers.
