March 18, Fineko/abc.az. Europe will not be able to remain competitive without gas transit through Ukraine, and Slovakia intends to seek its restoration, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Slovak PM Robert Fico.

The country has stated many times that it plans to maintain the ability to transport gas through its territory to Western countries. Slovakia continues to advocate for the restoration of transit. Because of this decision, the country is losing about 500 million euros due to termination of transit and nearly 1 billion euros more due to rising gas prices.

Robert Fico has highlighted that stopping gas transit costs 70 billion euros for the entire EU.
