In 2023, we established that not a single Master Plan of a city in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is new, even the newest master plan of Nakhchivan City was drawn up in 1983. It did not meet the requirements of the time, ABC.AZ reporys, quoting President’s Plenipotentiary Representative in the NAR Fuad Najafli, as saying this in an interview with journalists in Ordubad.

Najafli emphasized that these works were started in accordance with president’s relevant task: "When approving the State Program, we considered the issue of developing a Master Plan for the main cities of the NAR. Work is already underway to develop master plans for the cities of Nakhchivan, Ordubad and Shahbuz. We can say that the process regarding the city of Nakhchivan is nearing completion."

He noted that restoration of Ordubad mosque "Juma" is one of the target architectural monuments of the state program for 2023-2027.
