April 14, Fineko/abc.az. Apple continues to develop the direction of mixed and augmented reality, despite the modest commercial success of the first version of Vision Pro.
ABC.AZ reports that the company is working over two new headset models. One of them will be lighter and cheaper than the original, which cost $3,500. The second one will be able to connect to a Mac to stream an image from the screen and use professional applications. This architecture will ensure minimal latency and is better suited for tasks in a corporate environment.
Initially, a similar concept was developed for AR glasses, but now it has been transferred to Vision Pro. Apple CEO Tim Cook, as Mark Gurman reports, is determined to release the best product in the industry before Meta does. In the long term, Apple aims to create lightweight and comfortable augmented reality glasses that can be worn all day. Vision Pro headsets should be an intermediate step along this path. Development is complicated not only by engineering challenges, but also by external factors such as possible changes in U.S.’ trade duties.
