April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Canadian company Alberta Investment Management Corp. recommended its employees to stop non-mandatory business trips to the U.S.
ABC.AZ informs that according to the report, employees are no longer allowed to attend conferences or speak at events in the U.S., but they are still allowed to travel to attend board meetings and meetings with investors.
The company manages assets worth $130 billion. The Edmonton-based pension fund's decision came after the Canadian government issued a warning to travelers heading to the U.S., noting that they should "expect checks" and possibly checks on their electronic devices.
