April 17, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is a dynamically developing country in the region, and Slovenia is striving to establish close partnerships with it in various fields.

ABC.AZ informs, quoting Deputy PM, Minister of Foreign & European Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, as saying this during her speech at the Azerbaijani-Slovenian Business Forum.

"Although we are not neighboring countries, development of relations, cooperation in the energy sector and the expected further rapprochement of our ties have significantly reduced the distance between our countries. Azerbaijan is located in a geographically important region, at the intersection of trade routes connecting East and West. The Middle Corridor plays an important role in expanding trade in Europe. Slovenia also intends to use this corridor to expand trade relations with the East. We are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in such areas as pharmaceuticals, energy, transport, transit, agriculture and industry. Both sides have significant economic potential, which must be used for a mutually beneficial partnership," the minister noted.

Fajon also underlined that the current business forum promotes the formation of a favorable business environment between companies and business structures of the two countries, which in the future will create opportunities for the growth of mutual investments.
