April 21, Fineko/abc.az. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) plans to be the first in the world to use artificial intelligence (AI) to develop new legislation, as well as review and amend existing ones, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Financial Times (FT), which calls such plans by the UAE "a radical attempt to use technology in which they have invested billions of dollars".
"The new legislative system based on artificial intelligence will change the way we create laws, making this process faster and more accurate," the newspaper quotes the words of country's PM Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The government expects that AI, which will "regularly offer updates for legislation", will accelerate lawmaking by 70%. With the help of technology, the UAE plans to "track how laws affect the country's population and economy" by creating a huge database of federal and local laws, court decisions and public services, the publication says.
