April 22, Fineko/abc.az. The German government has worsened its forecast for the economy in 2025 and now expects stagnation, while growth of 0.3% was previously expected, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Handelsblatt’s government sources.

In 2026, according to new estimates, GDP will increase by about 1%, which is slightly lower than the January forecast of 1.1%.

The Ministry of Economy declined to comment on the data, citing the fact that a press conference on the issue is scheduled for Thursday, Reuters notes.

Earlier in April, Germany's leading research institutes lowered their forecast for country's GDP growth this year to 0.1% from previously expected 0.8%. At that, experts still expect the economy to grow by 1.3% in 2026.
