Chairman of Georgian Dream party Garibashvili resigns

April 25, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia's former prime minister, the chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Irakli Garibashvili, has resigned from his position as party chairman.

Garibashvili made this announcement during a briefing held at the party's office.

Irakli Garibashvili announced that he is leaving politics.

Note that Garibashvili was appointed chairman of the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party on February 1, 2024. He served as the Prime Minister of Georgia for the first time from November 2013 to December 2015, and for the second time from February 22, 2021, to January 29, 2024.

Earlier, local media had reported on differences of opinion between Garibashvili and other senior officials of the ruling party.
