One of the main priorities of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) for 2025 is the development of an ecosystem aimed at encouraging sustainable financial flows in the country, reads the Report on Sustainable Financing of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), Report informs.

According to the document, within this framework, the possibilities of introducing green insurance products will be studied and prospects in this direction will be identified: Green insurance products serve to increase the sustainability of both the country and enterprises, ensuring financial security from climate risks. In addition, proposals will be prepared for the introduction of green sovereign bonds.

Such bonds increase state financing of green projects and attract the attention of international investors. At the same time, proposals will be prepared on the instruments for greening state support.

"Considering the important role of the state in climate financing, the gradual greening of the portfolio of state support mechanisms will ensure the direction of financial support to environmentally sustainable and green projects," the Central Bank noted.
