May 13, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's aviation market is showing faster growth rates compared to global indicators, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Maya Marciniak, senior economist at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as saying this at the IATA Aviation Energy Forum in Baku.

"Azerbaijan's aviation market has not only surpassed global average growth rate, but has also surpassed the dynamics observed in Eastern European countries over the past decade. An additional 40% increase is projected over the next 10 years, primarily due to an increase in the number of passengers departing the country. This reflects the high activity in the sector: more and more people travel through Azerbaijan, come to the country and use the services of local air carriers. The significant part of this growth has direct positive impact on the financial performance of the industry," Marciniak said.
