May 14, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of March 2025, Uzbekistan retained its leadership in terms of gold sales in the world.
ABC.AZ informs, citing the World Gold Council, that the Central Bank of Uzbekistan sold 11 tons of the precious metal, becoming the largest net seller for the second month in a row.
In total, the world's central banks bought 35 tons of gold in March and sold 18 tons, resulting in net purchase of 17 tons.
After Uzbekistan, Singapore (-5 tons) and Kyrgyzstan (-2 tons) became the largest sellers.
The largest buyers are Poland (+16 tons), Kazakhstan (+11), China (+3), the Czech Republic (+2) and Turkey (+1 ton).
In the first quarter of 2025, Uzbekistan sold 15 tons of gold, remaining the largest net seller during this period.
