May 14, Fineko/abc.az. India has become Asia's most attractive equity market for global fund managers, pushing Japan into second place.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Bloomberg that this is stated in a message from BofA Securities.

Experts attribute this choice to India's prospects amid changes in global supply chains and trade wars.

In the study, 42% of managers stated an increased share of India in the portfolio, 39% - Japan, and only 6% - China. Thailand turned out to be the least interesting. 109 specialists with total assets of $234 billion participated in the survey.

Indian stock indexes are steadily recovering after the volatility caused by the imposition of tariffs by U.S. President Donald Trump. Experts note that country's economy is more focused on domestic consumption, which makes it more resilient to external shocks. Nifty 50 index has surpassed most of its Asian counterparts since April 2.

The market was additionally supported by the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, which caused an increase in the quotations of both countries at the beginning of the week.
