May 16, Fineko/abc.az. Mete Shamil Ozturk has been appointed the chairman of board and CEO of Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports referring to the bank.

Mete Shamil Ozturk graduated from the Faculty of Economics & Administrative Sciences of the Anatolian University. He started his professional career in 1996 at Dış Ticaret Bankı A.Ş. as a specialist in financial analysis. He has more than 25 years of experience in banking and finance.

In 1998-2001, he held the position of commercial marketing manager at the same bank, then worked at Koç Bank A.Ş. as head of the commercial portfolio (2001-2005) and branch director (2005-2006).

In 2006-2016, he headed various branches of Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş., and in 2016-2022, he served as regional director for commercial banking in the Aegean, Mediterranean, Beeglu and Halic regions. Before his appointment to Azerbaijan, he headed the Istanbul North European Region at Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş.
