May 16, Fineko/abc.az. A new Bill on Heat Supply has been submitted for discussion at today's Milli Majlis meeting.

ABC.AZ reports that the draft law consists of 7 chapters and 26 articles.

The bill has been prepared pursuant to Paragraph 2.3 of Presidential Decree #3233 from April 29, 2022 "On measures to accelerate reforms in the field of heat supply and increase its efficiency".

The purpose of the bill is to determine the legal basis of economic relations arising from the production, distribution (transportation), sale and consumption of thermal energy, to establish the powers of government agencies and the regulatory authority in the field of heat supply, the rights and obligations of heat supply entities, as well as to improve the quality of heat supply to consumers.

In connection with the adoption of the draft law, the Procedure for the use of thermal energy, approved by Cabinet Ministers’ Resolution #303 from December 5, 2023, should be canceled.

The bill was adopted in the first reading after discussions.
