May 16, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, Russia exported halal products for $382 million (1.8-fold more than a year earlier).
ABC.AZ reports, quoting Russian First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Yelena Fastova, as saying this at the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum". The main buyers are Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Iran. Halal exports to Algeria, Kuwait, Jordan and Egypt are also developing, she said.
According to Fastova's presentation, exports of halal products to Saudi Arabia last year amounted to $243 million against $127 million in 2023, to Iran - $62.5 million against $42.5 million, to the UAE - $31.2 million against $16.8 million, to Kuwait - $6.3 million versus $2.5 million. Poultry products predominate in the supply structure: 211 million against.105 million in 2023. Supplies of beef increased from $41 million up to $74 million, lamb – from $36 million up to $41 million, finished products – from $9 million up to $13 million.
