Global aluminum smelting increased by 2.2% in April

May 21, Fineko/abc.az. Global aluminum smelting in April of this year grew by 2.2% compared with April 2024 and reached 6.033 million tons.

ABC.AZ reports that this follows from the materials of International Aluminum Institute (IAI).

European countries and Russia produced 578,000 tons of aluminum for April (3% higher than a year earlier). In addition, China's metal output totaled 3.621 million tons of metal (according to registered data), which is 3.5% more than a year earlier, while in Asian countries (excluding China and the Persian Gulf) - 398,000 tons (a rise of 1.3%).

Countries of Oceania (Australia, New Zealand) produced 154,000 tons in April (a drop of 1.28%); the Persian Gulf - 505,000 tons (minus 2.7%). African states increased aluminum smelting by 5.6% up to 132,000 tons.
