June 11, Fineko/abc.az. The joint roadmap of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan covers more than 30 projects.
ABC.AZ informs that Yusif Abdullayev, Acting Director of the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), stated this during the panel session "Azerbaijan–Uzbekistan: Vector of Economic Partnership" at the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum.
He added that attracting investments remains one of Azerbaijan's key priorities. Abdullayev expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Infrastructure Development of Uzbekistan for fruitful cooperation.
He stressed that active cooperation is developing in such areas as e-commerce and construction.
"The restoration of the territories liberated from occupation is very important for Azerbaijan. One of the most active groups of companies in Uzbekistan is conducting serious negotiations on the construction of residential complexes to create textile clusters," Abdullayev said.
There are already concrete results in the agricultural sector: "As part of the cotton cluster project, we have planted 2,000 hectares and plan to increase this figure to 6,000 hectares. Several more hectares have been prepared this season, and we are already waiting for the first harvest."
Special attention is also paid to industrial cooperation.
"The traditional cooperation in the field of infrastructure and the automotive industry continues. An assembly plant is currently operating, where 9,000 Chevrolet cars have already been produced. This strengthens the brands Made in Azerbaijan and Made in Uzbekistan," he stressed.
In the field of urban development, he mentioned the prospects of implementing a new project in Baku.
"On June 4-5, the delegation visited the territory of the White City, and we are confident that the project will be implemented in the near future," Abdullayev emphasized.
In conclusion, he underlined the dynamic development of trade relations between the two countries: "We discussed the work of the trade representative office and hope that with its launch our cooperation will receive an additional boost."
