June 11, Fineko/abc.az. Uzbekistan is ready to work on increasing exports of vehicles, textiles, mechanical and technical equipment from Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabayev stated about this at the panel session "Azerbaijan – Uzbekistan: vector of economic partnership" within the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum.

"We are working very closely together to achieve this. One of the areas that will allow us to develop all this is the creation of an electronic commercial platform for concluding contracts," he said.

Minister's representative also expressed a hope for an increase in the number of business missions.

"The cost of joint projects exceeds more than $2.2 billion. The construction of residential complexes and hotels is being successfully implemented. Uzbek business is actively involved in investment projects in Azerbaijan, including the creation of a cotton cluster and expansion of the car assembly plant in Hajigabul. The potential for development of industrial cooperation between the two countries is extremely high. Currently, Uzbekistan is forming a new package of projects, and soon we will submit it to the investment company for preliminary screening, after which we will try to attract partners for their implementation," the deputy minister added.
