Citizens of Azerbaijan and Maldives are exempt from mutual visa requirements

June 18, Fineko/abc.az. The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on the mutual exemption of holders of diplomatic, official and official passports from visa requirements comes into force today.

ABC.AZ informs that the document was signed on November 15, 2024, during a meeting between Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdullah Khalil, within the framework of COP29 in Baku.

The relevant bill was discussed and adopted at a meeting of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan held on December 27, 2024, and then approved by the Azerbaijani President.

The agreement is aimed at further strengthening and developing friendly relations between the two countries by facilitating the movement of Azerbaijani and Maldivian citizens with diplomatic, official and official passports.

According to the document, citizens of the parties with valid diplomatic and official passports can enter, transit, leave and stay in each other's territories without a visa for up to 90 days from the date of entry.
