June 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and Estonia have signed a protocol defining the basis for future cooperation in the tax sphere.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Tax Service that within the 29th General Assembly of the Organization of European Tax Administrations (IOTA), held in Baku today, State Tax Service’s head Orhan Nazarli held a bilateral meeting with Director General of the Estonian Tax & Customs Council Raigo Uukivi.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects for further development of tax cooperation between the two countries. The parties exchanged experiences in order to identify, assess and prevent tax risks in a timely manner, cooperate in improving the quality of services using digital tools and stimulating voluntary tax payments, and exchanged views on innovative approaches to improving collection mechanisms.
At the end of the meeting, the document was signed. The protocol will serve as a roadmap for further joint activities of the tax administrations of the two countries and will contribute to development of strategic partnership.
