Kazakhstan invests $15 bn in six projects in petrochemical industry

June 19, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan is investing $15 bn in six projects in the petrochemical industry.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting Temirlan Urkumbayev, the director of the Petrochemical Department of the Ministry of Energy, as saying this at forum Power Central Asia + China.

As part of the strategy, the republic plans to switch from crude oil exports to development of the petrochemical sector, government’s press service informs.

Among the projects is a polypropylene production plant, which was commissioned and annually produces 500,000 tons of output. In addition, there are plans to launch a polyethylene production plant, scheduled for 2029. The design capacity of this plant will be 1.25 million tons a year.
