June 20, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have agreed to hold the First Forum of Industrial and Economic Zones.
ABC.AZ informs, quoting Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov as saying this at the III Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum in Baku, that thanks to this event, two countriues’ business circles will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the industrial zones in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.:
"By creating enterprises in industrial zones and parks of Azerbaijan, Uzbek companies will gain access to European markets. And the infrastructure and economic zones in Uzbekistan will allow Azerbaijani companies to explore the markets of Central Asia and enter Pakistan. Afghanistan also has a huge market with great needs. Therefore, we see great opportunities for deepening cooperation and joint promotion, joint production of products on the markets of third countries."
Kudratov noted that today Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have also agreed to develop further mutual cooperation in the field of transport: "Our region is facing serious challenges today. This is a matter of some concern. However, today we have agreed with our Azerbaijani colleagues that additional conditions will be created, including measures to expand the infrastructure through the Baku port, which will allow us to minimize risks and increase cargo transportation through the transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan. We are talking about extending cargo transportation concessions, creating additional capacities and expanding the fleet. There are agreements in all these areas in the Caspian Sea, and there are tools. We will create conditions so that Azerbaijan can effectively exchange goods and transport goods between the two countries."
