June 20, Fineko/abc.az. Meta is planning to introduce advertising and paid subscription in WhatsApp messenger as part of global monetization strategy.

ABC.AZ informs that in the European Union, innovations have been postponed at least until next year, as they require coordination with European regulators.

According to the Irish Data Protection Commission, the details of the new policy will be discussed with Meta later. The browsing history for targeted ads will only be used when voluntarily linking WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Meta has previously suspended the launch of I-functions in social networks in the EU due to concerns about data protection.
