June 23, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. military are developing measures in case Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, the most important oil and gas supply route connecting the Persian and Oman Gulfs.
ABC.AZ reports that the Pentagon fears drone attacks, missile strikes, and possible actions by Iran's proxy forces.
The closure of the strait, through which about a fifth of global oil exports pass, could block the actions of the U.S. Navy in the region. According to sources, the fleet plans to disperse the ships to reduce vulnerability.
Against the background of the U.S.’ strikes on nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan, the Iranian parliament supported the idea of blocking the strait. The final decision should be made by the National Security Council of Iran.
