September 8, Fineko/abc.az – Between January and August 2025, consumers in Azerbaijan were refunded AZN 124.7 million in value-added tax (VAT) on eligible goods and services.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the State Tax Service, that the refunds were processed through authorized banks for purchases in retail and catering sectors (excluding petroleum products, automobiles, alcohol, and tobacco), as well as for services including theater performances, cinema screenings, museum visits, symphony concerts, and medical services provided by private individuals and healthcare institutions.

During the same period, foreign visitors received AZN 6.94 million in VAT refunds under the tax-free shopping program for personal purchases made in Azerbaijan.
