September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Volkswagen plans to invest up to one billion euros ($1.2 billion) in artificial intelligence by 2030, the German automaker said on Tuesday at the IAA motor show in Munich.
According to ABC.AZ, the company stated that the investments will be directed toward the development of AI-supported vehicles, industrial applications, and the expansion of high-performance IT infrastructure.
Volkswagen expects that this AI initiative will generate savings of up to 4 billion euros by 2035.
The announcement was made on the opening day of Europe’s largest motor show, where European automakers showcase new electric models and technological upgrades to compete with growing Chinese competition.
Currently, Volkswagen is implementing significant changes in its two main markets—China and Germany.
