October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Climate measures in Azerbaijan cannot be taken separately from water.

ABC.AZ reports that the chairman of the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan, Zaur Mikayilov, made this statement on the third day of the Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025).

According to Mikayilov, proper water resources management is vital for all industries: "Our well-being, food security, energy and public health depend on how we effectively use every drop of water."

Agency’s head recalled that the presidential decree approved last year the National Strategy for the Rational Use of Water Resources (2024-2040) and identified specific areas of activity for the next 16 years: "This strategy is not only a document, but also a roadmap designed for specific goals and measurable results."
