October 2, Fineko/abc.az. President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) Natia Turnava was the keynote speaker at the SIBOS International conference, organized by SWIFT.
ABC.AZ informs that she also spoke about Georgia's innovations in the field of financial services, its strategic position along the Middle Corridor and cooperation with neighboring countries.
Turnava said that regional partnership and the development of financial services in the Middle Corridor can create a balance against global economic uncertainty and fragmentation. She added that Georgia has officially applied for membership in SEPA (Single European Payment Area), which will make payment transactions with Europe efficient, as well as strengthen trade and transport links.
The banker also noted that Georgia and its partners can turn regional challenges into opportunities by creating innovative, secure and inclusive financial ecosystems that will contribute to strengthening financial stability both in the region and in the world.
