October 10, Fineko/abc.az. Tesla Corporation has stopped the production of Optimus robots because of problems.
ABC.AZ informs that in March, company’s head Elon Musk stated that he would be able to produce 5,000 robots by the end of 2025.
Sources say that Tesla will not be able to achieve its ambitious goal and has revised its plans. Moreover, the company probably won't release any more robots this year.
The problem lies in the manipulators, which are not enough to produce cars. Experts explained that robotic arms are the most technically challenging part of the Tesla humanoids. There are problems with the forearms that engineers are not happy with. Also, development of Optimus was suspended due to the fact that the creator of the robot, Milan Kovacs, left the Mask corporation in June.
Tesla employees in private conversations are beginning to doubt whether the company needs a humanoid robot, as the technical difficulties and labor costs in its development are enormous. However, some of the machines produced are already being used in factories - for example, humanoids sort batteries for electric vehicles.
