October 13, Fineko/abc.az. Norway’s Equinor is going to start production soon at a large offshore project in Brazil.
ABC.AZ informs that development of Bacalhau has been delayed by the company for a long time.
The project price is $8 bn, and its production is expected to reach 220,000 b/d. The floating vessel for storing raw materials has been at Bacalhau since February of this year.
Initially, they wanted to start production at this field last year, since Equinor started drilling wells at Bacalhau three years ago. However, there were problems with salt deposits. According to Welligence analysts, development of this deposit requires complete reverse injection of gas, which increases the cost of the project and the timing of its launch.
