Bulgarian-Azerbaijani business Forum held in Sofia

October 31, Fineko/abc.az. The Bulgarian-Azerbaijani business forum was held in Sofia as part of the 7th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Ministry of Agriculture, that the event was attended by representatives of government agencies of both countries, as well as companies operating in the fields of agriculture, economics, energy, information and communication technologies, food and light industry, science and technologies, humanitarian and social spheres, healthcare, ecology, tourism and other industries.

Opening the event with introductory speech, Deputy Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Iva Petrova noted that relations of strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan, which are developing positively in both countries’ interests, have already reached a new level. The Bulgarian government carries out important cooperation with Azerbaijan in the direction of diversifying natural gas supplies and increasing energy security in the region:

"In the context of the European goals of creating an interconnected and unified pan-European gas market, the Bulgarian government is interested in developing gas infrastructure, expanding the national gas transportation network and expanding ties with neighboring countries. In this regard, our partnership with Azerbaijan plays a key role in ensuring energy independence and security," the Bulgarian deputy minister stressed.
