November 4, Fineko/abc.az. The construction of Chinese Antarctic station Qinling will be completed in February 2026, ABC.AZ informs, referring Global Times.
Dozens of engineers and other specialists are working for this purpose as part of the 42nd Antarctic expedition. In the coming months, they will end the interior decoration, installation of electrical equipment and installation of renewable energy systems.
The new base will be the most technologically advanced among Chinese stations. During the polar night, technicians in China will be able to remotely control the temperature and ventilation at the station, as well as manage repair work using high-definition cameras.
The publication notes that China continues to expand polar research. In total, China has five research stations in Antarctica and two in the Arctic.
