Number of Baku-Tel Aviv weekly flights increases

November 5, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from May 2026, the number of weekly flights between Baku and Tel Aviv is to increase up to 21.

ABC.AZ reports that Samir Rzayev, the president at Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), announced this on his social network account.

He noted that he had met with the recently appointed Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Krausch.

"During the meeting, we discussed development of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel, in particular, expansion of ties in the field of aviation. We stressed the importance of joint initiatives and cooperation projects in this area," Rzayev emphasized.

According to AZAL’s president, there is steady growth trend in the field of air transport between Azerbaijan and Israel: "As continuation of this trend, AZAL plans to increase the number of flights in this direction in the near future. We plan to increase the number of weekly flights up to 21 between Baku and Tel Aviv starting from May 2026. This step will be an important step in terms of expanding air traffic and increasing mutual passenger traffic. The statistical indicators of recent years clearly reflect the scale and pace of development of cooperation."
