November 14, Fineko/abc.az. On November 13, 2025 in the capital of the People's Republic of China, Beijing, a subsidiary of Dashkesan Demir Filiz LLC, Azerbaijan Metal Company, and Chinese company Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. signed an agreement for preparation of a bank feasibility study for the construction of a hot briquetted iron (HBI) plant with capacity of 2 million tons a year.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to AzerGold that the agreement was signed by AzMC CEO Jeyhun Aliyev and Sinosteel CEO Hua Guangling. The total cost of the agreement is $1.51 million.
The feasibility study being developed within the project is a key stage in the construction and subsequent operation of the GBJ plant to be constructed on the territory of Shamkir district. The document, which will take four months to prepare, will become the main reference material for international institutions and banks when considering project financing issues.
The future feasibility study will ensure the identification of optimal technological solutions for the construction of the plant, planning of construction and engineering works, as well as implementation of subsequent stages for the full-scale development of the project.
