Switzerland to put to a referendum the issue of a 50% tax on large inheritances

November 27, Fineko/abc.az. Switzerland, known as a haven for the super-rich, will soon put to a national referendum the issue of introducing high inheritance tax rates.

ABC.AZ informs that a group of political activists from the youth wing of the Social Democratic Party Jeunesse Socialiste has launched a campaign for radical changes, pushing for the issue of inheritance tax to be put to a national vote.

On November 30, the Swiss will decide whether to impose an inheritance tax of 50% on inheritances and testamentary dispositions over 50 million Swiss francs (€53.57 million).

According to a recent Tamedia/20 Minuten poll, 75% of Swiss voters intend to reject a tax for the super-rich, up from 67% in October.
