November 28, Fineko/abc.az. Hungarian leader Orban will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday to discuss hydrocarbon purchases after the country received an exemption from U.S.’ sanctions. But the sale of refineries in Eastern Europe due to the sanctions pressure on Russian companies will also be on the agenda.
ABC.AZ reports that Orban has already held talks with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic, after which he said that Hungary "would be happy" to take over the management of the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS). Orban added that Serbia would decide anyway.
Earlier, Hungarian Minister Gergei Gulyas said that Hungarian energy company Mol Nyrt is already negotiating with Serbia to buy Gazprom shares in NIS. Discussions are taking place at the moment, and NIS needs them, because it was the participation of Russian companies in its capital that caused the sanctions, Gulyas said.
