December 3, Fineko/abc.az. An increase in cargo transportation by ships in Azerbaijan has brought large revenues to shipping companies.

ABC.AZ reports that in the 3rd quarter of 2025, ships in Azerbaijan earned 194.1 million manats (14% more against last year's 170.3 million manats).

According to the statistics obtained, cargo transportation by ships in the first 9 months grew by 6.96% year-on-year, reaching 9.5 million tons. Of the transported cargoes, 3.35 million tons are petroleum products.

According to the State Statistics Committee, 1.3 million tons of imported cargo accounted exclusively for Azerbaijani vessels.

The increase in cargo transportation also has important impact on the number of ships in the ports of Azerbaijan. In the first 9 months, 4,604 vessels were handled at the ports (32% more than a year ago).
