December 10, Fineko/abc.az. In a few months, Chinese open source neural networks have grown from 1.2% to almost 30% of the global share of using large language models, according to a report by OpenRouter and Andreessen Horowitz.

ABC.AZ informs that the leading models are Qwen (Alibaba), R1 (DeepSeek) and Kimi K2 (Moonshot AI), while 70% of the market remains with Western systems.

China's growth is attributed to competitive models, fast iterations, and regular updates, despite U.S. restrictions on access to advanced GPUs. Chinese has become the second most popular language in AI queries after English (almost 5% of all queries). DeepSeek's R1 model surpassed OpenAI O1 by consuming fewer resources, which, according to Bloomberg, reduced the capitalization of Nvidia and major players by $1 trillion.
