Montenegrin authorities impose visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens

December 30, Fineko/abc.az. The Montenegrin authorities have imposed visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens. The decision was made in order to prevent illegal migration.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Montenegro has long applied visa-free regime to Azerbaijani citizens who wish to unilaterally visit this country.

"Currently, in accordance with the decision of the Government of Montenegro, visa regime will be imposed for Azerbaijani citizens wishing to visit Montenegro from January 15, 2026. This decision on the visa regime was made within the commitments made by the Government of Montenegro in connection with the process of membership in the European Union. A corresponding request regarding the new rules and conditions of the visa regime for citizens of our country has been sent to the opposite side. Additional information on this issue will be provided accordingly."

Azerbaijani citizens can currently stay in Montenegro without a visa for 90 days.
