Azerbaijan discussed energy cooperation with this country

January 8, Fineko/abc.az. Energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia has been discussed.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy that discussions took place during a meeting between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Deputy Energy Minister of Saudi Arabia Nasser al-Gakhtani, held as part of the opening ceremony of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant (WPP).

Satisfaction was expressed with strong friendly and partnership relations between the two countries. The Khizi-Absheron wind farm with capacity of 240 MW, implemented jointly with ACWA Power, was assessed as a symbol of brotherhood and partnership. It was noted that this cooperation will be expanded through other promising projects.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the OPEC+ format, as well as in the areas of hydrocarbons, renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy regulation. The possibilities of cooperation within the plans to develop regional energy links and increase energy interconnectivity between Central Asia, Europe and the Middle East were considered.
