January 19, Fineko/abc.az. An increase of the property tax paid for non-residential premises has been suggested.

ABC.AZ informs that Tamraz Taghiyev, the chairman of the National Association of Urban Municipalities of Azerbaijan, made this statement at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Regional Issues.

He said that this would not have serious impact on individuals, but would bring large revenues to the budgets of municipalities: "For example, in Narimanov district, the rent for an object with an area of 1,000 sq m is 25,000 manats. Municipalities are paid only 500 manats a year. Therefore, if the property tax paid for non-residential premises is increased, it will also provide additional support to municipalities.”
