January 21, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's imports of crude oil from Kazakhstan increased sharply in the first 11 months of 2025.

ABC.AZ reports that during this period, the country imported 114,400 tons of crude oil from Kazakhstan, and the cost of imports reached $62.832 million.

For comparison, for Jan-Nov 2024, Azerbaijan imported 34,600 tons of crude oil from Kazakhstan, and the total cost of imports amounted to $22.828 million. Thus, crude oil imports grew nearly 3.3-fold in annual terms and 2.8-fold in value terms.

Over Jan-Nov 2025, the average price per ton of crude oil imported from Kazakhstan was close to $549 (Jan-Nov 2024 - about $660).

The sharp increase on imports from Kazakhstan is an integral part of country's strategy to diversify oil exports from Russian routes.
